Bloom Anyway, Mixed media, with lots of textured paper on recycled canvas
Hi Art Friends!
I can't believe it is May! If you are in the South, I hope you are getting outside to see some of the flowers pop up! But if you are in an area that is still seeing rainy weather or even snow (like my daughters in CO and OH) I hope that seeing a few flowers might bring you some joy!
If you would like to see some video, find me @KristinAshmanFineArt (and @FoundBlessings) on both Facebook and Instagram.
Besides getting outdoors to search for Hill Country bluebonnets and landscape ideas, things have been fairly busy here in my studio! I just finished up two commissions (one being a triptych of 40 inches x 70 inches for a doctor's office here in Fredericksburg... photos coming soon!) If you are interested in a commission, please reach out and let's see if we can make it happen!
I've also gotten actively involved with Die Künstler Von Fredericksburg, our local Fine Art Painter's organization. As the board member focused on community outreach and publicity, you will be hearing more from me, as I announce events and programs, like the Cinco De Mayo Art Pop this Friday. We have some incredible artists here the Hill Country and I am excited to encourage them with new ways to share their art within the community and beyond!
Another new thing for me this year was working on some creative design, new logo and graphics work for a wonderful local business. I loved thinking about their needs and then bringing these ideas to fruition with my technical skills! I am hoping to do more of this in the future!
And finally, I had the pleasure of teaching a fun "Birthday Daisy" workshop for a wonderful family. We had 10 students spanning 3 generations! I was so impressed by their beautiful paintings after teaching them just a little bit about color mixing, scale and light! (More to come on future class opportunities!)
Thank you for being so supportive of my art and business! One of my absolute favorite things is meeting you in person and learning about you and your mission! I'm incredibly grateful because you inspire me! May we, together, get more beauty, love, kindness and goodness out into this world that so desperately needs it.
God Bless,
Kristin

Dear Art Friends,
I hope you are doing well! It's hard to believe summer break is over, school is back in session and FALL is here! If things near you are similar to things around here, it's still been a rollercoaster of a season! Yet, we continue to be hopeful and faithful as we move forward!
Sharing Art:
Above is the oil painting, "Hope Rising." The idea for this painting started when I headed out to the local flower farm, Windmill Meadow Farm, owned by Nancy and Paul Person. Paul took me through the amazing rows of flowers and I was allowed to pick anything I wanted. I was like a kid in a candy store! I was looking for soft pinks and whites for a composition that would feel joyful and serene. It was such a wonderful day - and even Stella, their Standard Poodle, was there to help me! Paul sent me home with the biggest, and I mean THE BIGGEST bouquet of gorgeous blooms!(See below for a couple of photos from the day.) Once I got to my studio, I didn't even arrange the flowers, they just fell into perfect harmony with each other as if ready for their beautiful moment! As I started painting, I felt so...well, hopeful! And now "Hope Rising" has found a special home with a wonderful couple in Houston.
Upcoming Events:
I am now preparing for several Fall and Winter events here in Fredericksburg, Texas. The first one is October 2nd at St. Joseph's Halle. (See below for more information.) Details on the other events will follow soon!
For those of you from other areas or just staying close to home, I am considering hosting an "online art market weekend" so that you can get a closer look at some of my current artwork and art gifts, including my hand painted ornaments. (Does an online art market sound of interest to you? I'd love your feedback on the idea!)
Thank you for spending a few moments with me and catching up! May you be blessed with a Fall full of gratitude and hope!
Blessings,
Kristin

Easter Blessings and Happy Spring!
I hope you had a beautiful Holy Week and Easter celebration! I love that the Easter season continues for 50 days! He Is Risen Indeed!
And after our deep Texas freeze, Spring has finally sprung here in Fredericksburg - even the bluebonnets are popping up!
I hope that if you are in town over the next couple of weeks, you will stop by one of the above events to say hello! And, I'm very excited to announce a new "test" product that a local artisan and I have collaborated on - we think it will be a lovely item for your home or for gift giving!
Hope to see you soon!

Because we could all use a pick-me-up, I'm having a sale!

It would be silly to ignore that we are all feeling ready for 2020 to be over, as we don't know what will happen day to day... or moment to moment for that matter! But one thing that I've noticed, that is good, true and consistent, is the beauty in the world around us!
Have you noticed the beautiful fall colors? Have you felt the cool autumn breeze? Did you buy a few pumpkins and mums this year? (I love the little white ones the best! Which is your favorite? ) It's a good thing to appreciate these little things. Focusing on gratitude and praising God through the day sure does help!
When I paint, it really gives me the opportunity to think with eyes of thankfulness and wonder. Asking myself, how do I show the beauty of this object using the unspoken words of paint? And how, do you as the viewer, share in this conversation with me? My hope is that the painting of the said subject then leads us to a discussion about goodness and grace - and that everything is going to be okay...because as we know, God is in control.
Blessings,
Kristin
P.S. I hope you will take the time to go through and see if any paintings speak to you. What are they saying to you? I hope that they will bring you some moments of joy and beauty! If you are interested in purchasing something during the Artful Autumn Studio Sale, please use the code FALL10 for 10% off your order when you check-out.
(I will be adding more paintings over the next week - and will also include some gift-able art, including Found Blessings prints, small paintings and ornaments, just look under the Found Blessings section.)
For any questions, please feel free to send me a message through the website. I'm happy to meet in person, talk by phone or video call if you want to see the artwork up close.

Celebrating the Extraordinary in the Ordinary - Everyday! |

While I had hoped to show you more, it's still a little too messy for a tour! I've put floors and baseboards on hold while I focus on the busy season of Fall and Christmas - and getting art orders out in time for Christmas.
Next week, look for an Art Alert where I'll show you a few available giftable items from both my fine art line as well as my Found Blessings shop! In the meantime, stay well - and may you be blessed with a beautiful Fall!
